Courtney + Brent – Wedding at Reynolds Plantation Lake Club
A private club within the Reynolds Plantation community on Lake Oconee, The Lake Club, is an sweet spot for a wedding. Poised on a hill overlooking the lake, there’s a large grassy area for the ceremony and either a patio or interior ballroom for the reception. And you can do like the bride and take a boat ride to your own wedding! Courtney Goldman Photography from Athens came down to photograph Courtney and Brent’s big day. She did an amazing job capturing all the special moments that create a memorable wedding.
From the photographer:
Courtney and Brent were married at The Lake Club in Reynolds Plantation, overlooking Lake Oconee. It would be an understatement to say that this group was both fun and fabulous! After getting ready at Courtney’s father’s house, the girls (plus dad) took a boat across the lake to get to the ceremony and reception location! Everything about this wedding was amazing, but be sure to check out the bouquet and garter tosses at the end. They were epic!
Josh and Michelle’s Lake Oconee Cuscowilla Wedding
Cuscowilla, a golf community on Lake Oconee, has a stunning spot for your ceremony on a point overlooking the water. You can have your ceremony right at the water’s edge and move back to the Waterside restaurant and pool area for your reception. Josh and Michelle chose Cuscowilla for their small, winter wedding and Eric Little, their photographer, captured these beautiful images.
From the photographer:
What a way to begin the New Year. My favorite wedding venue, Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee, and Josh and Michelle. A small family affair, but it offered me even more time to spend with the bride and groom for their wedding photography. I have shot at Cuscowilla on so many occasions, I know every great location to shoot there, but I was able to create some new looks with Josh and Michelle. Something different. No matter how long you are in the wedding photography business, new clients become new friends, which help you become more creative. I hope you enjoy a few of their images.

Kim Lindsay from Alea Moore Photography came to the Ritz at Lake Oconee to photograph this beautiful late-year wedding and did an amazing job capturing the unique details and the fun-loving couple. Mazal Tov!
From the Photographer:
I hope all of you are LOVING all the holiday joy this week!! Did you realize you only have a few days to go!!! I can’t believe Christmas has totally snuck up on me so my goal this week is to completely enjoy my life, my family and friends,.. maybe a little last minute shopping and definitely lots of sweet treats. I’m going to love every minute of it too
To share some joy with all of you today, I’m so happy to share Amy and Michael’s wedding day with everyone. We got to take a little day trip to Lake Oconee for their gorgeous outdoor wedding by the lake. Lots of wonderful traditions and lots of love filled the day along with TONS of awesome details including caramel apples! Yumo!! But my favorite part of the evening was the Hora dance. We are always looking for that sweet first dance followed by hugs and kisses but Amy and Michael opened up their reception but running in and immediately were followed by every single guest onto the dance floor. What an awesome tradition and when Amy and Michael we lifted into the air on their chairs I thought I was going to die of laughter!! It was so cool it brought tears to my eyes and I’ll never forget the look on Amy’s face!! Priceless
Amy and Michael, We loved seeing all your beautiful traditions and sharing your wedding day with you both! It was an amazing day and we can’t thank you enough for choosing us to capture every moment!! Thank you so much and we are super excited to share your photos!!
Enjoy!

Zach and Megan – Wedding at the Lake Oconee Retreat
Zach and Megan were married a Catholic church on one side of Lake Oconee and had their reception at one of our favorite wedding venues on the other side. The Retreat is an amazing rental home on the north side of the lake. It is HUGE. 30-40 people can stay there at once meaning your family and close friends can stay at the house for the wedding weekend while the rest of your guests stay nearby in Greensboro or Madison. You can see a couple of other weddings held at the Retreat here and here. Jamie Howell did an amazing job capturing this wedding and the happiness surrounding it. Take a look at her other work!
From the Photographer:
This area of the state is so pretty. It is distinctly removed from the chaos of Atlanta that I’m so used to. The ceremony was held at Christ our King and Savior Catholic church in Greensboro while the reception was at The Retreat – a beautiful lake house just outside the city.
Megan and Zach were a joy to work with. Here are a few of my favorites from the day:

Jamie & Mason – Hundred Acre Farm, Madison, GA Wedding
Marianne Brown came up to Madison, Georgia to photograph this beautiful wedding at the Hundred Acre Farm near the north end of Lake Oconee. The photos are outstanding and show what a lovely farm wedding this venue can produce.
From the Photographer: It’s finally here! Jamie and Mason’s Georgia Farmhouse wedding! The love these two have for each other shined through the entire day! – as well as Jamie’s love for the color pink;) It really was dream wedding. I wish all the happiness now and throughout life for this loving couple. Congratulations and thank you for letting my capture this day. (I’m still a little sad about not being invited to document the honeymoon in Greece though;)
Here is the second set of shots from this amazing Ritz Carlton Lake Oconee Wedding. These are from Nam Nguyen.
From the Photographer:
5 Hours of driving. 11 Hours shooting. 2 Photographers. 1 Assistant. 3 5-hour ENERGY bottles. 4 Boxes of candy. Who knows how many Cokes. And a 3:30AM arrival at home… TOTALLY WORTH IT. This wedding has been especially sweet to me for a number of reasons. Not only did I get to document a Jewish wedding again (so fun!), I also got to shoot a lakeside ceremony with an old photo buddy, Matt Yung. Matt is an incredible photographer and so much fun to shoot with! It’s almost as though we have the same brain when working. Perhaps an Asian connection? Strange.
Though with all of that said, hands down, the biggest factor of why this wedding was so sweet: Julie and Jeff.
These two are so sweet together and so darn easy to shoot! You may remember them from an earlier post where they were a bit nervous about their engagement shoot and just wanted 3 – 5 “good ones.” Well, they were out of their shells this time around and ROCKED it for their wedding! Julie and Jeff were married at the Lake Oconee Ritz-Carlton lodge, Reynolds Plantation. And while I could write more, I’ll just let the pictures do the talkin’.

Keep an eye out for the second installment of this wedding and the beautiful photos from Nam!
Lake Oconee Boat Wedding – Cindy and Ed
From the photographer, Rachel Browne (http://www.rachelbrownephotography.com/)
Given that I am a wedding photographer and that at times I get to attend weddings (instead of shoot them), it never fails that I’ll take a few photos while I’m there. I’m especially glad to be able to share this wedding with you, as it’s my godmother (god’mo) and she’s got a wonderful story. Cindy and Ed met while she was in high school. Life happened, and it wasn’t until a few years ago that they reconnected. We were all so happy to be there when they got married out on the lake with a flotilla of friends’ boats there to see. Cindy and Ed are Lake Oconee royalty, so, of course, they shared a balcony wave and kiss.
On their rings? “Finally, and forever.” ![]()

Nicole and Jeff at Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation
From the photographer (The Decisive Moment of Atlanta):
It took me about 5 seconds to decide I could really be dear friends with Nicole! Her energy, sense of humor a fun loving spirit are irresistible. We LOVED photographing her beautiful wedding at The Ritz Carlton, Reynolds Plantation and loved meeting the love of her life, Jeff, as well! They are a fabulous couple and if Will and Jean captured just an ounce of their joy you will feel it in every image! Such an honor to be a part of this celebration! We are so thankful!
