Karlee and Dusty were married on a warm August day at one of Lake Oconee’s most amazing venues and rental houses – Da Casa Banana 2. Sleeping upwards of 40 people you can rent the house for the weekend and have all your wedding party and family stay right in the house with you! Ceremony on the lake, wedding reception under the tent, open air dancing under the lights on the patio – this venue is almost too perfect. These outstanding photos from Ashlee Culverhouse (http://www.ashleeculverhousephoto.com) demonstrate how the Reynolds Plantation Pavilion can be transformed into a formal, swanky affair! A last minute threat of rain brought together the planner, caterer, and tent rental company to install a 40×80 tent on the point of the pavilion – the largest ever installed in that space! Underneath was a mixture of bar, food tables, and some guest seating, all of which had been planned for a beautiful outdoor spring day. The result? A gorgeous event for 200+ guests.
What an amazing day it was for Annie and Jake’s wedding. Perfect weather, perfect couple, and the most perfect setting at Sandy Creek Barn near Reynolds Plantation. It was a truly magical evening and these photos from Vue Photography tell the story. For more information about Sandy Creek, contact either the Ritz Carlton or Reynolds Plantation. A little more information is available here.
From the photographer:
Annie and Jake began their journey together at Auburn! He was a football player, she was on the equestrian team…both ambitious and die hard fans! War Eagle! During a weekend trip to Lake Oconee the two officially started dating making the venue, Sandy Creek Barn an obvious location! We had big blue skies and perfect fall weather on our side- watching these two was a treat!!!!
ps. On a side note check out the blooms!!! Gertie Mae’s whipped out some luscious fall eye candy!
If you look at no other photo in this blog post about a wedding at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge Reynolds Plantation, at least check out the last one. This is a perfectly timed shot that shows how amazing a lake front wedding in Georgia can be. Photography by David Christensen Photography
With a selection of famous golf communities like Reynolds Plantation, Great Waters, Cuscowilla, and Harbor Club, Lake Oconee is a popular vacation spot for families from Atlanta and around the Southeast. The area inspires relaxation and recreation so it’s not unusual that couples would take that inspiration into their wedding planning! Camille and Nick, a couple of golf enthusiasts came down to Lake Oconee and tied the knot at a private home in Great Waters. These photos, from Erin at Something Pretty Photography show what a little inspiration and imagination can produce.
From the photographer:
Camille and Nick’s wedding was great, and I always love working with Nancy from No Regrets Events–she is the absolute best! Their wedding was out at a house on Lake Oconee, and although it threatened rain, it held off all day and allowed for a gorgeous outdoor party. These two are golf nuts, so we had to take some shots on the golf course, and the one of Camille almost sinking a putt is priceless:) Here are some of my favorites.
Casa Banana II is a sweet rental house on Lake Oconee available for weddings, special events, family reunions and more. With 10 bedrooms and 10 baths, the house sleeps almost 40 people so it’s a perfect spot for a weekend getaway with your closest family and friends. The house is rented almost every weekend from March to October so book early! For more information on Casa Banana check here and here. The ceremony actually took place at a private home around the corner from Casa Banana and the reception was held at this beautiful rental home. Zoomworks Photography from Athens provided the images.
This couple met at a holiday party in London…..sounds so chic, right? It was and they are. This couple planned a very thoughtful wedding, bringing together customs from both the American South and England, as well as incorporating mementos of their extensive global travel. The location for the actual ceremony had very special meaning as well – the family farm where so many great memories had been created over the years. And of course they excited the ceremony in a vintage Volkswagen Bus!
A private club within the Reynolds Plantation community on Lake Oconee, The Lake Club, is an sweet spot for a wedding. Poised on a hill overlooking the lake, there’s a large grassy area for the ceremony and either a patio or interior ballroom for the reception. And you can do like the bride and take a boat ride to your own wedding! Courtney Goldman Photography from Athens came down to photograph Courtney and Brent’s big day. She did an amazing job capturing all the special moments that create a memorable wedding.
From the photographer:
Courtney and Brent were married at The Lake Club in Reynolds Plantation, overlooking Lake Oconee. It would be an understatement to say that this group was both fun and fabulous! After getting ready at Courtney’s father’s house, the girls (plus dad) took a boat across the lake to get to the ceremony and reception location! Everything about this wedding was amazing, but be sure to check out the bouquet and garter tosses at the end. They were epic!
